Yarn:
Approximately 800 (840, 880, 920, 980), (1040, 1100, 1160, 1235) yds of lace weight yarn held together with,
800 (840, 880, 920, 980), (1040, 1100, 1160, 1235) yds of lace weight yarn.
Alternatively, a single strand of heavy fingering or sport weight yarn may be used. This will require approximately
800 (840, 880, 920, 980), (1040, 1100, 1160, 1235) yds.
Yarn used in the sample:
Cape May Fiber Butterfly Lace (80% super wash merino, 20% silk) in Saltwater Taffy 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 3, 3) 100g / 876 yd skeins and,
Cape May Fiber Brushed Alpaca Silk (74% Baby Suri Alpaca, 26% Mulberry Silk) in Saltwater Taffy 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) (4, 5, 5, 5) 50g / 328 yd skeins.
Note: These two yarns were held together throughout.
Note on yarn amounts: The amounts shown are estimates and could vary depending on the type of yarn fiber used and personal tension.
Needles:
Main needle: US size 6 (4mm) 24”/ 61 cm or longer and 16” /40.5 cm circular or size needle needed to obtain the correct gauge.
Edging needle: US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 24”/61 cm or longer, 16”/40.5 cm circular or needle one size smaller than the main needle and double pointed needles or preferred needles for working a small circumference in the round.
Gauge:
20 sts and 28 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in st st and lace and cable pattern, after blocking on main needle.
