This cardigan is worked from the top down and has many interesting design details. First of all, since it is top down, there are many instructions in the beginning so be forewarned. Once you’ve reached the underarm join, things get much easier. The shoulders are extended down the sleeves for a dramatic look. Also, the front shoulders extend to the back creating decorative seams along the back neck. The cardigan also has deep side pockets and a fold over collar. The vertical buttonholes are worked along with the cardigan.

Gauge:

18 sts, 26 rows = 4”/10 cm in st st on larger needle. 24 sts = 4” in cable pattern larger needle.

Needles:

US Size 8 (5 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm) long circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

Note:

Cardigan body and sleeves are worked back and forth, a long circular needle is used to accommodate a large number of sts.
